Brilliant book marketing. - thanks Paul McDermott.

Hmm. . .a pile of books on a park bench. All the same. Caught my interest.

I am always on the lookout on interesting new ways to market products. One topic that is often on my mind is how are writers, and other artists discovered. Writer Paul McDermott is a new discovery. I met him in the park on my walk to the office. Alone in the park on a bench is a pile of books, all the same. A little note sticks out saying that he has left one thousand books signed in parks all over the world. Brilliant. I am not sure if we would have met, meaning his writing and I if it was not for this brilliant piece of marketing. I am now curious who wrote this book. Is he as clever as his marketing? Getting a book as a mystery gift like this made me much happier than if I would have come across it in some other way. So Paul if you see this leave a note, would like to hear the rest of your story. This was blogged while walking in the park in London.

Hi Christian,
This definetely was a very clever way of marketing. Thanks for the post and hope we can read the rest of the story...

Off topic: are you thinking of making a post on microblogging services like jaiku or twitter? I would like to know your thoughts about it if you ever feel like commenting about it.

Hi! I’m impressed, I must say. Really rarely do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. Your idea is outstanding; the issue is something that not enough people are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to this.
