Christian Lindholm Biography
At present I am the Chief Innovation Officer at Fjord, the leading service design consultancy, with the mission to transform digital through elegant simplicity. I am also Chairman and Co-Founder of Tech21 a Sensor start up creating Smart Touch sensors. Before that I was Vice President of Global Mobile Products at Yahoo. I spent ten years at Nokia driving their user experience efforts, among other things inventing the Navi-key user interface, defining simplicity in the early days of mobiles.
Helsingin Sanomat, Finland's largest daily newspaper called me the 'godfather of mobile phone users', I guess that was a tribute to the efforts I made making Nokia phones easier to use.
As a innovator, product maker, my passion is to make stuff easy and delightful to use. Things can always be simplified and made more delightful to use. I hold several patents both in SW and in HW. Together with my Nokia colleagues I wrote Mobile Usability, one of the first books dedicated to the mysteries of designing compelling small user experiences. My current passions are still mobility, the Internet and increasingly smart things.
In the summer of 2008 I co-founded Tech21 with the sensor inventor and his businessnpartner, with the mission to make any physical intercation more human through toush and force. Our first focus is on re-inventing the Smart TV remote. My role in the company is Chairman with focus on product and marketing.
I have a master's degree in Economics from Hanken, the Swedish School of Economics and Business Administration in Helsinki, Finland. I have worked as a visiting researcher at the Centre for Design Management at London Business School, where I publish a couple papers on product development in Strategy Review. My research interest lies in understanding how design, technology, usability and marketing affect product success in emerging markets where no dominant design has been established.
My passion is sailing, cuisine. Love to eat authentic food, plain or fancy, cooking is something I love to do with my family.
